Volume I has 527 pages and Volume II has 534 pages. The edges of the pages have deckle edges which means they are uncut in a rough unfinished state. Hardcover is green with some fading. The spine is brown with some fading. Stable spine. Gold gilded lettering on both covers and spine. Bumps to corners. No missing pages or tears, age related tanning of pages.
Volume II has a pencil drawing on the first page of a little girl (see picture). Both copies are clean and in good condition considering the age and handling.
